Graeme Murty has revealed that he is still backing under-pressure striker Alfredo Morelos.
The player has been under fire from a selection on fans following a poor performance in Rangers’ 2-0 defeat to Hamilton last week, which saw him miss a host of good chances.
However, Murty thinks that the player will be back to his best soon, and that the club have held extra training sessions to help Morelos improve his finishing.
As he told Rangers official website: “He knows he has the support of his teammates, and the support of the staff who have done some work on finishing this week.
He went on: “We have to make sure we put him in the situation in training that is going to replicate the game so it becomes more comfortable and more assured so that when he sees that picture on a matchday, it’s familiar to him, not unusual to him and he just goes and is really composed in the final third and he goes and hits the target.
“When he does that, when he gets one, I’m sure he’ll go on a fantastic run for us.”
Morelos last scored for Rangers in their 2-2 draw with Partick Thistle back in September.
The Gers will attempt to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Hamilton at bottom of the table Dundee tomorrow night.
In other Rangers team news, the club has received an apology following some untrue stories that were written about Bruno Alves
