Szoboszlai responds to Milos Kerkez’s Bournemouth message amid Liverpool deal ‘progress’
Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez caught the eye once again with a standout performance against Tottenham, further fuelling speculation about his future amid interest from Liverpool.
Despite Bournemouth surrendering a two-goal lead in their 2-2 draw on 9 March, Kerkez delivered another impressive display under Andoni Iraola, showcasing his attacking ability down the left flank.
Kerkez’s assist wowed Liverpool fans for Marcus Tavernier’s opening goal, a pinpoint cross from the left side after bursting down the flank.
Adding to the speculation, his relationship with Reds midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has been a talking point among fans. Football Insider revealed that Szoboszlai is playing a key role in Liverpool’s attempts to sign Kerkez, in a deal that’s “progressing well”.
The two Hungarian internationals frequently interact on social media, and that trend continued over the weekend.
Liverpool target Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez ahead of summer rebuild under Arne Slot
The left-back shared a simple but determined message on Instagram after Bournemouth’s draw, writing: “Work. Improve.”
His post quickly gained attention, with Liverpool midfielder Szoboszlai fuelling speculation by responding with a heart and applause emoji. Several of his teammates also reacted, with Justin Kluivert commenting, “What a ball” while Evanilson and Daniel Jebbison also showed their appreciation.
Kerkez is expected to leave Bournemouth in the summer transfer window, with Arne Slot’s side among the clubs interested, alongside Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Though, Liverpool are expected to go through a rebuild this summer, with plenty of players linked with moves away such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez. The signing of Kerkez could be the first of many for Slot this summer.

Bournemouth could be forced to sell Milos Kerkez despite European push
The long-standing interest in Kerkez comes at a time when Liverpool fans have grown frustrated with Andy Robertson’s performances this season.
The Hungary international has been seen as a potential replacement, with the club stepping up their pursuit in January. However, Bournemouth refused to sell mid-season while chasing European football.
Currently eighth in the Premier League on 44 points—just three behind Manchester City in fifth—the Cherries have been one of the season’s surprise packages. But despite their impressive campaign, financial or squad-building considerations could see them part ways with Kerkez in the summer.
