Talks scheduled: Wolves closing in on move to sign Nottingham Forest freebie - report
By Will Butcher
Wolves are set to hold talks with Nottingham Forest defender Dani Pinillos next week over a potential move to Molineux, according to a report.
The Sun’s transfer expert Alan Nixon claims in Sunday’s paper edition (page 63) that the 24-year-old is to leave Forest because he cannot agree a new contract with Mark Warburton’s side.
Pinillos’ contract runs out in less than two months’ time, with Forest not fighting to keep the former Cordoba and Racing Santander star.
Forest’s number three has returned from a lengthy absence on the sidelines that saw him miss the first half of the 2016-17 campaign, making 16 appearances in total.
Able to play on the left side of midfield as well as at left-back, Pinillos has found the back of the net on one occasion as well as providing an assist against rivals Derby County in a 2-2 draw.

But after making only 35 appearances in the red of Forest since his move in the summer of 2015 from Cordoba, Pinillos now looks set to leave with Wolves keen.
Paul Lambert is likely to be busy in the transfer market this summer, as he looks to push Wolves towards the top half of the table next season.
Football Insider verdict:
Although Pinillos is well-known for his injury problems, it is undeniable that he has quality that can provide the difference in the second tier of English football. He showed that against Derby, with his inch-perfect long ball, making it easy for Zach Clough to score before getting his head on the ball to fire home in the final moments of the local derby. Excelling in all areas and with no obvious weaknesses on the field, Wolves boss Lambert must consider if Pinillos’ injury past is worth risking when bringing him to the Midlands. But on a free transfer, he is definitely worth the gamble.
