Tavernier names the Rangers teammate who has been key to taking his game to new level

James Tavernier has hailed Rangers teammate Daniel Candeias as being instrumental in helping to take his game to a whole new level this season.
The Light Blues announced on Wednesday evening that Tavernier has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2021.
It is a huge boost for Rangers and their supporters given the form of the right-back this season and the strides he has made in recent times.
Speaking at a media conference on Thursday afternoon, as quoted by the official Rangers Twitter account, Tavernier paid tribute to the influence of 2017 summer signing Candeias and the alliance they have struck up on the right flank.
“Daniel Candeias and I have worked well together, we work really well together and he has helped my game come on,” said Tavernier.

Tavernier has been one of Rangers’ outstanding players this season, fusing solid defensive work with some eyecatching attacking play that has yielded six goals and eights assists from 32 matches in all competitions.
Right-winger Candeias, who was brought to Ibrox by former manager and countryman Pedro Caixinha, has scored five goals and provided eight assists from 31 games this season.
