The key Man City fixtures Omar Marmoush could miss after confirmed news

Pep Guardiola will be without Omar Marmoush for a number of weeks after the Man City star suffered an injury on international duty.

Just 10 minutes into Egypt’s World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso, Marmoush was forced off with a knee injury, having started two of the Citizens’ three Premier League games so far this season.

He has been a key figure since joining during the most recent winter transfer window, notching eight goals and two assists in 28 appearances so far.

The manager is already without Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and John Stones, to name just a few, and the injuries are beginning to stack up at the Etihad Stadium ahead of the Manchester derby.

Bryan Mbeumo has been tipped to cause Man City plenty of damage on Sunday, 14 September, and now, one of Guardiola’s most dangerous forwards is unavailable for the high-profile clash.

Omar Marmoush could be ruled out until the international break

Speaking to the media ahead of City’s clash with the Red Devils, Guardiola confirmed that Marmoush will be sidelined for “a few weeks,” but suggested that the attacker could return before the next international break.

The 26-year-old is just another injury concern for the Citizens to deal with as the club contends with key Premier League and Champions League fixtures on the horizon.

Erling Haaland has returned from the Norway camp unscathed, with Jeremy Doku, Oscar Bobb, Phil Foden, and Bernardo Silva ready to feature. Kalvin Phillips could also earn a shock return.

Foden’s lack of game time has been a concern at the Etihad, but this could be a chance for the 25-year-old to make an impact after falling down the manager’s pecking order in recent months.
