The six top contenders to replace Thomas Frank revealed as Tottenham sack looms
Thomas Frank is under serious pressure at Tottenham following Sunday’s embarrassing loss to Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham were beaten 3-0 by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ibrahim Sangare grabbing the goals.
Guglielmo Vicario made mistakes for both the first and second goals, with Sunday going down as a day to forget for the Italian.
Frank was already under pressure at Tottenham, after his side went five consecutive games across all competitions without victory before beating Brentford, with some now calling for the Dane to be shown the door.
It has been suggested that sacking Frank will not change anything for Tottenham, but decision-makers can only ignore such terrible form for so long.
Odds-on favourites to replace Thomas Frank revealed
In every way, Sunday was a day to forget for Tottenham. The visitors offered just one shot on target throughout the 90 minutes, and never looked like getting into the game.
Nottingham Forest had already enjoyed several chances before the opener, but Tottenham made sure to go behind in the most embarrassing of ways.
| Nottingham Forest | Match stats | Tottenham |
| 48% | Possession | 52% |
| 15 | Shots | 6 |
| 6 | Shots on target | 1 |
| 1.91 | Expected goals (xG) | 0.37 |
| 3 | Big chances | 0 |
Vicario looked to pass out from the back, but instead handed Archie Gray a hospital pass. The midfielder was dispossessed and Sangare was left to provide Hudson-Odoi with a tap-in.
The winger would add his second just after the break when he fired – what was surely intended to be a cross – over Vicario and into the back of the net.
Hudson-Odoi would turn provider in the closing 10 minutes, laying off for Sangare, who hit a stunning strike from range in off the post.
It was a performance that, in many ways, summed up Frank’s tenure so far. And with the Dane now facing calls to be sacked with increasing intensity, contenders to replace him are already emerging.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is the bookies’ favourite with 5/1 odds, leading Marco Silva (8/1), Andoni Iraola (8/1) and Roberto De Zerbi (12/1), according to one major bookmaker.
Frank would come close to shortest managerial tenure
Frank was appointed by Tottenham 185 days ago and right now, it would be slightly risky to say that he will make it to 200.
The shortest managerial tenure with the Lilywhites came in the form of Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked after just 124 days in charge.

But the stats from both coaches’ starts with Tottenham make for extremely grim reading. Despite taking charge of eight less games than the Dane, Nuno actually secured only one win less than Frank has.
The now-West Ham boss only lost two fewer in that time, admittedly, but such stats underline just how badly the former Brentford boss is getting on in North London.
Keeping up the same rate, Frank will be lucky to see the week after next in charge of Tottenham, given the visit of Liverpool approaching next weekend.
