‘The way that he has behaved’ – Le Tissier stunned Nottingham Forest could be sacking Ange Postecoglou
Matt Le Tissier thinks that Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is the main man to blame for the club’s current struggles after fans turned on Ange Postecoglou in their last game.
Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier exclusively told Football Insider that he believes Forest fans should not have publicly voiced their opposition to Postecoglou in their recent Europa League clash, but Marinakis is at fault because Nuno Espirito Santo shouldn’t have been sacked.
Ange Postecoglou was appointed as Nottingham Forest‘s new manager last month following Nuno’s controversial sacking, but things have not gone to plan in the East Midlands for the ex-Spurs boss so far.
The Reds are yet to win a game since he was hired, with four losses and two draws in his opening six games in charge, and doubts have already started to creep in over whether he is the right man to lead them forward.
Forest fans called for Postecoglou to be “sacked in the morning” during their 3-2 loss to Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday (2 October), and this was followed by widespread reports the Forest manager is one match from the sack.

Le Tissier blames Marinakis for Nottingham Forest woes after Nuno falling out
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former England and Southampton striker Le Tissier insisted that Forest fans were premature in their anti-Postecoglou chants, and said how things had been made much harder for the Aussie boss due to the context around his appointment.
Nuno’s reign at the City Ground came to an abrupt end last month after fallouts between him and the controversial Greek owner, even though they had made some brilliant strides forward last term as he guided them to a seventh-placed finish and qualification for the Europa League.
Le Tissier voiced his concerns at Forest fans’ chants after just six games of Postecoglou’s tenure, but insisted that Marinakis should shoulder most of the blame, saying: “The Nottingham Forest fans were singing ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ to Ange Postecoglou after just six games…what is that all about?
“I think, personally, the owner [deserves] to be blamed for that, because, obviously they had a manager in place who was pretty successful and got rid of him.
“I don’t think the fans were calling for [Nuno’s] head in any way shape or form, so it was always going to be difficult for the next man to come in. But I do think six games is a bit of a short time to be judging a manager.
“I feel like the fans do need to get behind the new guy, because you only really get results when everything at the club is together, when everything at the club is pulling in the right direction.
“I think it’s a little bit too early for the Forest fans to be singing that, but I think the owner has to take some share of the responsibility for the way that he has behaved.”
Postecoglou needs a win at Newcastle or he may be sacked
It has certainly not been easy for Postecoglou at Forest up to now, and his job is only getting harder this weekend as they travel to Newcastle for a Premier League clash on Sunday (5 October).
Reports on Friday (3 October) stated that Forest chiefs will review Postecoglou’s position as boss if his side slip to a loss at St James’ Park, which certainly seems likely based on the current form of both sides.

Pressure is already believed to be building on the former Tottenham head-coach, and so he may be out of a job very soon if Marinakis is able to swallow his pride and admit that he made the wrong decision.
Forest will be without key centre-back Murillo against the Magpies after he went off injured in the week, while Ola Aina, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Douglas Luiz all remain sidelined.
