‘The worst’ – Celtic and Rangers fans both say the same thing after Old Firm Derby clash
Celtic and Rangers fans have been able to agree on one thing following the first derby of the season between the fierce rivals.
A John Souttar header ruled out by VAR was the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock in a drab 0-0 draw at Ibrox.
It was the first goalless encounter between the sides since 2017, and means Rangers start the season with four successive draws.
Celtic remain unbeaten and have still yet to concede a goal this season, but the underwhelming display will not have gone down well with the Hoops support.

‘Embarrassing’ – fans slam quality of Rangers v Celtic clash
Whilst Celtic had no shots on target in the first half, Rangers did not manage to test Kasper Schmeichel in the second period.
There was a lack of goal-mouth action throughout, with fans being left unimpressed by the standard of both teams.
Total Shots | 9 |
Shots on Target | 3 |
Big Chances | 1 |
One fan claimed it was “probably the worst Old Firm game I’ve ever seen,” whilst others called the match “awful” and “embarrassing.”
Celtic the happier after Rangers draw

Both Rangers and Cetic fans would have expected more from their sides, as Jack Butland and Schmeichel were largely untested throughout the match.
Martin will be pleased with a first clean sheet of the season, especially after a woeful defensive performance at Club Brugge in the Champions League just four days earlier.
Celtic’s new signing Michel-Ange Balikwisha failed to impress, and with Adam Idah on the verge of a move to Swansea, Brendan Rodgers will be lining up more reinforcements.
The result benefits Celtic greater than Rangers, with the Gers stuck in mid-table and still looking for a first win of the season with Hearts travelling to Ibrox after the international break.
