Thiago and Liverpool teammate lambasted after what pundit's seen in person - 'dreadful'

Thiago and Fabinho must drastically improve if Liverpool are to stand any chance of saving their season.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-1 on Sunday (6 November) as they claimed their first away win of the season.

Spurs improved after a poor opening 45 minutes and forced Alisson into a number of vital saves during the second half.

Wenham, who attended the game, was not impressed with Liverpool and picked out Thiago and Fabinho for criticism.

“That was the worst Liverpool team I’ve seen play Tottenham since Jurgen Klopp took over,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I thought they were really beatable and I think Tottenham were really unlucky to not get anything out of the game.

“Alisson is a very impressive player and Liverpool can thank him for the three points. Generally, the way Tottenham overran that midfield in the second half, what has happened to Fabinho and Thiago?

“They were dreadful. These are two players who were top of their game last season, especially Thiago. We were totally on top of those guys in the second half.

“They really didn’t impress me at all. I don’t know what it is, whether it’s attitude or fatigue or what, but they need to get back to their old selves as soon as possible.”

Liverpool’s win over Tottenham propelled the club to eighth in the Premier League table.

The Reds’ final game before the World Cup is against Southampton on Saturday (12 November).
