‘This is how much compensation Sean Dyche will get paid after Nottingham Forest sack’

Nottingham Forest may have to pay Sean Dyche up to £500,000 in compensation following his sacking at the City Ground.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, after Nottingham Forest sacked Dyche after just four months in charge.

Nottingham Forest sit just three points above the Premier League relegation zone, with Dyche having won six of his 18 league games in charge.

Dyche became the third managerial casualty at the club this season, with newly appointed Vitor Pereira their fourth boss of the campaign.

Sean Dyche compensation revealed

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – was surprised by Nottingham Forest’s decision to sack Dyche.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks Dyche could be owed around £500,000 in compensation.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Well, again, another surprising one to be fair. Obviously, we had Sean Dyche at Everton, where he was last before Forest.

“I don’t know what, I don’t think there’s been anything reported about the compensation, but I would imagine knowing how [Evangelos] Marinakis operates, he would have had something in there that, by the end of this season, if he was sacked, it probably would have been just the payment for this one year.

“So I’d imagine there’s probably something like about half a million to be paid for the last bit of the season in his contract. Around that sort of number is my guess, and it is a guess at the moment.”

Sean Dyche in running for managerial job

Dyche could be set for a swift return to management, with the 54-year-old a favourite to replace Scott Parker at Burnley.

Parker is coming under pressure at Burnley, and Dyche could be welcomed back by the fanbase following a previously successful spell at Turf Moor.

The Clarets could be looking for a manager with Championship experience, with a nine-point gap between them and Premier League safety with 12 games left to play.
