Three Newcastle stars who could join 27-year-old in reportedly missing out of PL squad

Rafa Benitez has a big decision on his hands when it comes to naming his 25-man squad to represent Newcastle in the Premier League during the 2017-18 squad.

The Shields Gazette claim that Benitez is ready to drop 27-year-old midfielder Jack Colback from his squad altogether, despite being an integral member of the squad last season.

Colback was constantly criticised throughout Newcastle’s promotion-winning campaign for constantly passing the ball backwards and offering little going forward.

It saw him lose his place in the side, with Isaac Hayden partnering Jonjo Shelvey in the middle of the park towards the end of the 2016-17 season.

Now, the former Sunderland midfielder is set to join Tim Krul, Emmanuel Riviere and Achraf Lazaar in missing out on the 25-man squad.
