New arrival must be shown Ibrox exit: Three worst Rangers players in Florida Cup triumphs
Rangers brought the curtain down on their winter trip to Florida on Saturday night with a resounding 4-2 win over Brazilian champions Corinthians in the Florida Cup.
The Ibrox side spent a few days at the world-class IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida training before stepping up a gear to take on Brazilian sides Corinthians and Atletico Mineiro.
The Light Blues won both games as Graeme Murty tried to give as much game-time to as many players in his squad as possible with 23 players featuring for the Gers over the two games.
With a number of senior stars missing the trip through injury, it gave an opportunity for some of the Gers fringe players to stake a claim for a first-team place when the competitive action resumes later this month.
The Gers travel to Highland League minnows Fraserburgh on January 21st in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup before welcoming Aberdeen to Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership three days later.
With a week’s training to get under their belts at the club’s Auchenhowie training base before that, Graeme Murty has one final chance to look at who can help his side close the gap on league leaders Celtic.
