Attacker in form of his life but has to go: Three players Gerrard must bin if hired by Rangers
It seems that Rangers may be hiring Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as their next manager after widespread reports have appeared in the last 24 hours that Dave King wants him to replace Graeme Murty.
The Evening Times has reported that Gerrard, 37, could be in charge at Ibrox for the first game of next season if he is assured of the club’s financial position.
It is understood that director of football Mark Allen had met the former England, Liverpool and LA Galaxy midfielder last week to present a proposal to him to be the Gers’ next manager.
Gerrard’s only coaching experience after quitting his playing career has come with Liverpool’s Under-18s side and his appointment at Ibrox would certainly turn a lot of heads across British football.
He could definitely attract some promising players to Ibrox, but the 2005 Champions League winner must also ensure that several players are sold as soon as possible.
