Three Premier League clubs who should target Callum Wilson after West Ham exit bombshell

Premier League clubs will be on high alert this month following the news that Callum Wilson is in talks to leave West Ham.

Nuno Espirito Santo has stunned with his treatment of Wilson, with the striker handed just eight Premier League starts, or substituted early, even when chasing a goal.

Currently, Michael Carrick is the favourite to replace Nuno, with the Hammers bobbing above the relegation zone, and the pay-as-you-play forward appears to be looking for a way out of the mess.

He has four goals and one assist since arriving in East London, but with both Pablo and Taty Castellanos being signed already in the current transfer window, his place in the side is not guaranteed.

Several teams are battling against relegation this season, but it is not just those near the bottom three spots that could find the 33-year-old’s services useful in the second half of the campaign.

Brentford

Igor Thiago has been sensational for Brentford, and even with Dango Ouattara away at AFCON, Keith Andrews‘ side have shone, moving up to seventh in the Premier League table.

Nonetheless, the Bees have very little depth when it comes to the striker spot, and a move for Wilson would not be at all surprising, given his experience up and down the top tier of English football.

Leeds United

Leeds United have gone from strength to strength since Daniel Farke changed the tactics, which involve Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha starting up front together.

With the Whites now unbeaten in seven games, safety looks all but guaranteed, but that could change if any injury disasters strike at Elland Road. That is not out of the question with Calvert-Lewin.

Leeds are already without Dan James, with Nmecha only just returning from the treatment room, so another veteran centre-forward signing might not be the worst idea in the world.

Nottingham Forest

With Arnaud Kalimuendo set to leave Nottingham Forest, Igor Jesus not fully trusted by Sean Dyche, and Taiwo Awoniyi a poor excuse for a replacement, the striker department is lacking at the City Ground.

Dyche is under growing pressure to get his players firing, with the club sitting four points above the relegation zone, and the transfer window could be a key turning point for all teams down the bottom.

Wilson, with experience across Bournemouth, Newcastle United, and West Ham, could make a huge impression on the River Trent in the second half of the 2025-26 campaign.
