Caixinha success story and no Morelos: Three Rangers players who could win POTY

COMMENT

Rangers have had a roller-coaster of a season this term but there have been some of the Ibrox squad of have enjoyed strong campaigns and could find themselves in the running for player of the year awards at the end of the season.

Despite lagging behind leaders Celtic and having fairly inconsistent results, there have been some real standout performances from Gers players this term as some of the Light Blues squad have tried to push their team-mates on to better.

With the Gers only having the Scottish Cup to play for in terms of silverware, a number of Graeme Murty’s squad should come into contention for individual honours along with the likes of Kilmarnock’s Kris Boyd, Hearts skipper Christophe Berra and Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie.

While it will be scant consolation for the Gers fans, it’s another small step in the right direction for the Glasgow giants after having to climb back through the leagues from the bottom.

Murty’s squad have had some players who have shown glimpses of their quality while others have regularly shown their ability and stepped up for the Gers.
