Three signings Nottingham Forest are considering after James McAtee breakthrough

Nottingham Forest are continuing to turn their transfer window with a Manchester City star now on the verge of arriving at the City Ground.

In a Football Insider exclusive, Man City will accept a bid of £30million for 22-year-old James McAtee.

McAtee was part of the England under-21 Euro winning squad this summer after not partaking in the Club World Cup with City.

The arrival of McAtee would be another upgrade to Nuno Espirito Santo’s attacking options after being able to keep hold of Morgan Gibbs-White following an “illegal” approach from Spurs.

Three more players could be set to join McAtee at Forest, as Santo continues to strengthen his squad.

After losing Anthony Elanga to Premier League rivals Newcastle, Santo wants to replace the pace and direct style of the Swede with a new winger.

Santo is turning to Adama Traore, whom he managed in his spell at Wolves and is now at Fulham.

Fulham though are close to signing Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, which could mean Marco Silva sanctions a move for Traore to reunite with Santo.

Traore is blessed with pace and will be a huge threat in the counter-attacking style Forest deploy.

In a Football Insider exclusive it was revealed, Nottingham Forest were leading the race to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey.

Villa are currently walking a PSR tightrope, and selling Ramsey would be beneficial as the club would keep all the profits of any sale due to him being a home grown player.

Ramsey has struggled to cement a firm position in Unai Emery’s starting XI and the 24-year-old wants to reignite his career with a move away this summer.

This would add extra depth to Santo’s midfield which will be put to the test by the demands of Premier League and European football.

Forest could also turn to Douglas Luiz to strengthen their midfield, with a loan deal possible for the 27-year-old Juventus midfielder.

The Tricky Trees may have to be quick though as Football Insider were exclusively told that West Ham had made a move to beat Forest to Luiz.

Manchester United are also in the race for the Brazilian who could leave Italy after just one season.

PSR rules played a part in Luiz having to leave Villa Park after five successful years at the club, in which he helped them return to the Champions League.
