Midfielder must start up front: Three things learned about Rangers in win v Aberdeen
McCrorie becoming first-team mainstay
McCrorie started as the deep midfielder in Rangers’ midfield diamond and put in a really composed performance shielding Bruno Alves and Danny Wilson from the Dons’ attack.
Since coming in to the side in September the 19-year-old has barely put a foot wrong and looks every inch a first-team player now.
There’s still one or two mistakes – which isn’t a surprise given his inexperience – but the young star could make a place in the starting XI his for years to come if he carries on as he is.
Having seen a lot of McCrorie last season for Rangers’ Under-20 side, it’s not a surprise in the least to see him do so well in the first-team.
