25-yr-old is changing minds of fans: Three things we learned about Rangers in win against Dundee

Ryan is Jack of all trades

Ryan Jack is the player Rangers have been crying out for since Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis left the club in 2012 to sign for Premier League Southampton.

He’s never going to be the creative player Niko Kranjcar or Daniel Candeias can be but what Jack brings to Caixinha’s side is just as important. The 25-year-old is also winning over fans who had pigeonholed him as ordinary and pedestrian.

Always harrying opposition players and looking to break up moves, Jack offers Rangers’ defenders the protection from midfield they’ve lacked for years.

Alongside Graham Dorrans in the middle of the park, Jack’s performances often go under-the-radar as he does the dirty work that allows the likes of Candeias, Kranjcar and Josh Windass to push forward and break down opposition defences.

With the first Old Firm game a few weeks away, Jack’s form makes the clash between him and Celtic’s Scott Brown even more enticing.

Jack is also a natural leader and is constantly badgering his team-mates on the pitch and pushing them on.
