Tottenham take on Swansea on Wednesday night at the Liberty Stadium as they aim to keep the title pressure on leaders Chelsea.
Here are three things Football Insider expects from Mauricio Pochettino’s side during the Premier League encounter.
Sigurdsson to star
Players always up their game against their former clubs and more often than not score.
Swansea signed Sigurdsson from Spurs in the summer of 2014 and since then he has gone on to be one of their most important players.
The Icelandic midfielder has been Swansea’s star performer this term and he has nine goals and 11 assists in 32 league and cup appearances.
He’s dangerous from open play and a set-piece specialist – if Swansea are to get anything from the game he will need to be on top of his game.
Walker and Dembele back to their best
Kyle Walker did not feature at the weekend and Mousa Dembele only played 45 minutes – so both of them should be rested and full of running if they start on Wednesday night.
It is bad news for Swansea if they do both start as they are both renowned for their pace, strength and work rate – three attributes which will will be improved after a break.
Easy night for Dier
Eric Dier put in a man of the match performance and scored his first of the season against Burnley, so he is in prime form.
Since the change in formation to a 3-4-2-1, the 23-year-old has looked right at home as one of three centre backs, and Swansea have little for him to be wary of.
Fernando Llorente missed Swansea’s 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough, and if he misses the game on Wednesday night there is no forward’s in the Swans team to challenge Dier physically.
