Rangers and Celtic clashed in the second Old Firm clash of the season on Saturday with the Gers almost certain to disappointed to have only come away with a single point after a 0-0 draw.

Despite being expected to be turned over by Brendan Rodgers’ side, the Gers were resolute defensively and had the best chances to break the deadlock but were denied by a number of top saves by Craig Gordon.

The Light Blues dominated much of the play and dictated the tempo for long spells as they looked to pick up their first league win over their bitter rivals since 2012.

Rangers boss Graeme Murty has gone head-to-head with Rodgers twice now and still holds an unbeaten record against the Northern Irishman as the Hoops’ bubble continues to burst after their recent dominance of Scottish football.

The result leaves the Gers in third place in the Scottish Premiership as they go into the three-week winter break and a trip to Florida to face Atletico Mineiro and Corinthians in the Florida Cup.
