24-year-old superstar has shocker: Three worst Chelsea players in loss to Man United
COMMENT BY Matt Bullin
Chelsea fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Man United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera scored either side of the break to hand United all three points, as Jose Mourinho beat his former employers.
The result means Tottenham closed the gap on league leaders Chelsea to just four points as they thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 on Saturday.
It was an afternoon to forget for Antonio Conte’s side and here, Football Insider, gives you their three worst performers from the match.

The 28-year-old Spaniard is enjoying a difficult spell at his club and is without a goal in five matches. He rarely threatened against United and spent the majority of the game losing a individual battle with Marcus Rojo. Surely Conte will take a close look at Michy Batshuayi in training this week to see if he is worth starting in future matches? Fans are getting tired of Costa – who could be on the move this summer – and would welcome a change up top before Chelsea’s wobble becomes terminal.
The 31-time Serbian international was hauled off after 66 minutes as Willian came on in his place. Matic struggled to impose himself in the middle of the park as Herrera and Marouane Fellaini dominated and he has not impressed in a while. Fabregas has looked a better player going forward this season and that may be what Chelsea need v Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-final.
Chelsea’s Belgian star man has been in superb form this campaign, scoring 14 Premier League goals from midfield. But Mourinho’s use of Herrera to mark him out of the game worked perfectly and the 24-year-old’s threat was completely nullified. Hazard had a shocker – he struggled to find any space and when he did his normal creative, incisive play was stunted. Conte will be hoping that other PL managers weren’t watching Mourinho’s tactical masterclass.
