Waste of money: Three worst Tottenham players in FA Cup win against Millwall
By Amir Mir
Tottenham produced a professional display as they knocked Millwall out of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon at White Hart Lane.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side secured a 6-0 win to put their name in the hat for the semi-finals alongside Arsenal and Manchester City who beat Lincoln and Middlesbrough respectively on Saturday.
Here, Football Insider identifies the three worst Spurs players on the day against the League One side.
It is fair to stay the centre-back role is not suiting the England international. He struggled in a back three against a League One side and it is not the first time he has had problems in that role this season. Dier fails to offer any comfort or confidence at the back because he fails to get rid of dangers early whether the ball is in the air or on the ground.

On the rare occasion when the away team attacked Spurs, they had success on the left-hand side where Davies was defending. Furthermore, the Wales international didn’t provide too much confidence when attacking down the wing. Davies’ final touch and final shot/delivery let him down. He simply doesn’t have the threat that the club’s first team regular Danny Rose has.
In truth, the £30million summer signing has been a waste of money and when he came on against Millwall he failed to do provide any impact for 15 minutes. The France international is perhaps low on confidence, but the fact that he didn’t start an FA Cup clash against a League One side suggests what his manager thinks of him at this moment in time.
