Tino Livramento sends Dan Burn ‘big’ message after ‘unfair’ England debut

Tino Livramento shared a heartfelt message dedicated to his teammate Dan Burn after the centre-back made his England debut.

It’s been a week to remember for Burn, who not only made his official England debut against Albania but also celebrated winning the Carabao Cup for his boyhood club Newcastle just days earlier.

Thomas Tuchel’s side managed to win the first World Cup qualifier with a 2-0 win, as Myles Lewis-Skelly scored on his England debut.

Burn was called “unfair” by Lee Dixon, after he almost marked his England debut with a goal as he saw a powerful header hit the crossbar, towering above his opponents and coming agonisingly close to finding the back of the net.

While Livramento was called up to the squad, he remained an unused substitute, but that didn’t stop him from sending a special message to Burn, celebrating his memorable week and his achievements.

Tino Livramento praises Dan Burn despite ‘reckless’ moment against Albania

Livramento had a message of praise for his teammate after made his official debut, congratulating him with a simple yet heartfelt message: “Some achievement, congrats big fella.”

The defender has likely received numerous messages of support following his call-up, with fellow Newcastle teammate Kieran Trippier also sending his congratulations to Burn, despite not being part of the squad himself.

However, the 32-year-old was involved in an incident during his debut which could’ve been costly.

Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett exclusively told Football Insider that Burn should have been sanctioned for a reckless challenge.

He attempted to clear a ball inside his own half but caught Albania striker Myrto Uzuni in the face with his leg, leading to a free kick being awarded against him. Despite the clear contact, he escaped without receiving a yellow card, with referee being “lenient” in his decision.

Despite the controversial moment, Livramento was full of praise for Burn’s performance and his achievement of making his England debut. The young right-back will now be hoping to claim a place in the squad for the upcoming match against Latvia on 24 March, before returning to club duties with Burn at Newcastle.
