Toby Alderweireld posts Twitter message after Tottenham suffer defeat

Toby Alderweireld has expressed his disappointment on Twitter after Tottenham suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan opened the scoring for the hosts in the first half, when he riffled his shot into the roof of the net during a cagey encounter at Old Trafford.
Centre-back Alderweireld was making his first start for the north London club, following his return from a knee injury in midweek.
The Belgian was a late substitute against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League at Wembley on Wednesday night, his first piece of action for the senior side since October.
Despite his return to first team football Alderweireld was unable to prevent United from taking all three points as he posted this message to supporters on his personal Twitter account.

Alderweireld played the full match against Jose Mourinho’s side, but he was unable to prevent his side from suffering their second defeat of the 2016/17 Premier League season.
During his absence, Spurs have lost their unbeaten record in the league and dropped points against the likes of Bournemouth, Leicester and Arsenal.
Now they sit fifth in the league table on 27 points from 15 games, three behind Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side who are in fourth place.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be looking over their shoulders as United, who are in sixth, have closed the gap on their top four rivals to three points with that win on Sunday.
The north London club will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host relegation strugglers Hull City at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
