Jon Toral: This player persuaded me to join Rangers

Jon Toral has revealed Mikel Arteta persuaded him to join Rangers on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old Arsenal playmaker has joined Mark Warburton’s side on a six-month loan deal after he was recalled from his unsuccessful stint at Granada.
The Spaniard claims he took advice from Arteta, who like Toral, graduated from Barcelona’s youth academy before going on to sign for Arsenal.
Arteta has had a hugely successful career in the Premier League but he first made a name for himself as a 20-year-old at Rangers and Toral hopes he will enjoy a similarly bright spell.
“I spoke to Mikel Arteta as well and he told me I would enjoy my time here, so that helped me take the decision,” said Toral, as reported by the Daily Record.

“He told me how big this club is and how well looked after I would be here. That’s good to know from players who have been here in the past.”
Toral is yet to make an appearance for the Gunners but he hopes a successful spell in Scotland will kick-start a potential first team career at Arsenal.
The youngster was hugely impressive while on loan at Birmingham in the Championship last season and he finished the campaign as the club’s Player of the Season.
He also impressed under Warburton during a spell at Brentford in 2014 and the duo hope to receive similar success during his time at Rangers.
Toral is expected to be a short-term replacement for the injured midfield duo Jordan Rossiter and Nico Kranjcar who both joined in the summer before experiencing long-term set-backs.
In other Rangers news, this player will be the club’s marquee signing of the season.
