Tottenham and Man City players react as Tyler Adams sends ‘grateful’ Bournemouth message

Tyler Adams was “grateful” for Bournemouth’s players and fans after the best season in their Premier League history.

Andoni Iraola‘s Cherries may have tailed off from their mid-season high of fifth after a run of just four wins from their final 15 games, but Bournemouth have still improved their record top-flight points tally.

Bournemouth finished on a high with a 2-0 win over already-relegated Leicester at the Vitality Stadium, but a ninth-placed finish sees them miss out on European qualification despite their haul of 56 points.

The Cherries’ impressive form this term has seen the vultures circle with enquiries aplenty over several of Iraola’s top players, and the exits have already begun with Dean Huijsen on his way to Real Madrid.

Adams sends ‘until next season’ message at Bournemouth

Huijsen could quickly be followed out of the exit doors at Bournemouth by Milos Kerkez with the left-back on the verge of a £40million move to Liverpool, as Iraola battles to retain the core of his team.

That core has been made up in large part by Adams this term, with the American an ever-present when available after he missed most of last season through an injury picked up in his time at Leeds United.

With just one start and four appearances in total made last season, Adams has featured 32 times in all competitions this time around, and posted on Instagram (27 May) with a message to Cherries fans.

Kerkez and former team-mates Josko Gvardiol and Dominic Solanke both liked Adams’ post, which said: “What a season. Grateful for this team and our fans. Until next season, up the Cherries.”

Alex Scott left a comment to call Adams a “legend”, while Bournemouth’s top scorer Justin Kluivert said: “Moments”.

Bournemouth braced for transfer offers after historic season

Iraola can rest easily and will expect few bids for the likes of Adams and Scott this summer, the same can’t be said for several other Bournemouth players, with Kluivert also likely to attract significant interest.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Bournemouth will demand as much as £60m for Antoine Semenyo amid interest from Newcastle and Man United, after his impressive 11-goal tally this season.

Kerkez’s much-anticipated move to Liverpool has gathered pace in recent days and is likely to be the second big-money exit from the south coast this summer, but the Cherries will fight to prevent others.
