Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he has ‘options’ as the club enter the last few days of the January transfer window.
Spurs have been had a quiet month and are yet to announce any new incomings despite being linked with a host of stars.
Pochettino’s side continues to be in contention for the top four Champions League positions but with all the teams around them strengthening there are concerns that the Lillywhites are being left behind.
And doubts mounted all the more after the Argentinian’s side’s 1-1 draw against lower league opposition, Newport County in the FA Cup at the weekend.
But after previously saying it was unlikely signings would be made, Spurs’ boss seems to have made a complete U-turn after his post-match comments.
‘Of course we have some options,’ the Tottenham manager Pochettino said in the Daily Mail.
‘We are going in the last few days to see if we can add players that add good quality.
‘If not then it won’t happen. But it’s about in the next few days to see if we have some possibilities with some players.’
With the club currently building a new 61,000 seater stadium, there are exciting times ahead but they can only be realised if the manager not only keeps hold of this current crop of players, he has to add to them too.
