Ruben Neves can be the man to make Tottenham’s bid for silverware a reality next season and the Wolves ace is the perfect player to replace Eric Dier in the centre of the park.
In short, he is the quintessential, stereotypical, ready-made for Spurs type player.
The Portuguese defensive midfielder has been the linchpin to the Championship club’s success this season, which has seen them on the brink of promotion to the Premier League.
A midfield consisting of Mousa Dembele, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, and Neves, would be one of the strongest in the division, if not the strongest, and one that can finally bring success to the Lillywhites.
While Eric Dier continually flatters to deceive in the central areas, Neves provides an all-round more attractive prospect.
At 21, the Wolves star is already a full Portuguese international and has been tipped by Paul Merson to become one of the best players in the Premier League once Nuno Espirito Santo’s side reaches the top-flight.
His purchase won’t come easy though – he’s one of the players to arrive at Molineux through the much-talked-about Jorge Mendes influence, and the agent will undoubtedly have a very big say over where his client ends up.
And with Neves’ current deal at Wolves not due to run out until 2022, Daniel Levy will have to produce a rather large briefcase to acquire this superstar in the making.
