Tottenham may have just saved £17m as new details emerge from Sky on Gollini deal - pundit
Tottenham have been smart to sign Pierluigi Gollini on a loan deal with a £13million option to buy – he could be worth £30m next year.
So says former top-flight goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Spurs announceded Gollini had signed on 24th July.
Spurs confirmed there was an option to make the move permanent and Sky Italy reported the same day that the clause could be activated for £13m.
The 26-year-old featured 32 times across all competitions for Atalanta last term and has a contract that runs until 2023.
Kenny claims that the Italian shot-stopper’s value could skyrocket if he has a successful season with Spurs.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “It’s a smart move. I think we’ll see a lot of deals like this due to Covid.

“I just think it makes sense. We’ll see if he can get any game time because, for me, Lloris has been a bit hit and miss.
“If he can do well when he gets his chance then things might change in 12 months time and they can get a permanent deal in place.
“If he doesn’t do well then you’re only losing out on the wages you’re paying him.
“But if he does come in and do well then you can get him for £13m when he might be worth £30m next year.
“For a goalkeeper playing in the Premier League, it’s a real bargain.“
