Ex-striker claims Kane will be 'slaughtered' by 'fuming' Tottenham teammates after what he's seen
Frank McAvennie claims plenty of Tottenham players will be fuming with Harry Kane when he returns to training.
The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the striker will be slaughtered by his teammates once he returns to Spurs.
Kane has not yet returned to Tottenham training following his exploits with England this summer.
According to The Telegraph (16th July), some of Kane’s England teammates think it’s plausible the striker may refuse to return to pre-season training with Tottenham.
The same outlet also reported on 24th July that Kane will miss the start of the Premier League season after being given extra time off.
This means he will miss the opening weekend clash of Tottenham v Manchester City, regardless of who he’s playing for.

City are the only club to have made a concrete offer for Kane and McAvennie claims the ongoing saga will be rubbing his teammates up the wrong way.
“I’ve seen in the papers he’ll be back in training soon,” McAvennie told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“What’s that atmosphere going to be like? They don’t know what’s happening, the players. I can only imagine they are fuming.
“Back in my day, I’d slaughter him in training. I’d be saying ‘when are you going then mate?’
“There would be a few tackles flying into him that’s for sure. I can’t imagine his teammates are happy with all of this.
“Maybe that’s old school but I know what it’s like to be in there.”
On 29th April, this site revealed Kane has told friends he is “hell bent” on leaving Spurs.
Kane turned 28 on Wednesday and is yet to win a trophy during his career.
