Tottenham cult hero sends Richarlison message after Moyes shuts down Everton return

Richarlison received a message of support from a Tottenham cult hero on social media after David Moyes shut down any chance of a return to Everton for the striker.

The Brazilian striker was signed from the Toffees for £60million [Sky Sports] in the summer of 2022.

But three years on from his big-money move, Richarlison has struggled to settle in North London, suffering with a series of injuries and poor form.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to leave Everton this summer following the expiration of his contract, and the Toffees are in need of a new striker.

Richarlison has been linked with a sensational return to Everton, where he played the best football of his career, but that deal looks unlikely after David Moyes’ comments in his pre-match press conference before their match against Fulham.

Heurelho Gomes sends Tottenham ace Richarlison message

Prior to Everton‘s match against Fulham, Moyes was asked about Richarlison potentially returning to his former side, and the 62-year-old said: “Richarlison is a really good player, and somebody who I’ve liked, but I can only tell you there is zero truth in that from my side.”

As Spurs prepare to take on Crystal Palace, the Brazilian striker was celebrating his 28th birthday and received a message from cult hero, Heurelho Gomes on social media.

The post, which Richarlison shared on his Instagram story said: “Parabens meu querido amigo, Deus te abencoe hoje e em todos os dias da sua vide! Happy birthday to you my brother”.

Which translates to: “Congratulations my dear friend, God bless you today and every day of your life! Happy birthday to you my brother”.

Richarlison likely keen to end Tottenham stay with World Cup nearing

Football Insider Verdict

Flashback to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and Richarlison was the talk of world football after scoring a stunning bicycle kick against Serbia.

Whilst Brazil ultimately fell to Croatia in disappointing fashion in the quarter-finals, the newly-signed Tottenham striker’s stock was as high as it had ever been.

Since then, things have only been downhill for Richarlison as he struggles for minutes in North London.

The ex-Watford man has started just four times this season in the Premier League, and with his side in the Brazil squad in jeopardy, the 28-year-old will be desperate to play more regularly next season.

A return to Everton is seemingly off the cards, but Richarlison is likely to still push for an exit this summer, given his lack of game time under Ange Postecoglou.
