Tottenham star Dominic Solanke reacts to Antoine Semenyo’s Bournemouth message
Antoine Semenyo is vying to have another strong campaign with Bournemouth after spearheading the Cherries’ largely successful 2024/25 campaign.
The Ghana international notched an impressive return of 11 goals and five assists in 37 Premier League appearances last season.
Semenyo’s exploits helped the Cherries finish ninth in the top-flight, but Bournemouth have lost star defenders Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen to Liverpool and Real Madrid, respectively, in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Semenyo had attracted transfer interest from Tottenham before signing a new contract with Bournemouth ahead of next season.

Solanke reacts as Semenyo shares Bournemouth message
As Bournemouth prepare themselves for their upcoming Premier League campaign, Semenyo featured in a 3-0 win over Everton in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, 26 July.
The Dorset club’s goals arrived from Philip Billing, Dango Outtara, and academy talent Daniel Adu-Adjei, who spent last term on loan with League Two side Carlisle United.
After Andoni Iraola’s men beat Everton 3-0, Semenyo took to Instagram on Sunday, 27 July, as he wrote: “1/3 – Glory be to God.”
The former Bristol City man’s message attracted a like from his former Bournemouth teammate Dominic Solanke, now of Tottenham.
Andoni Iraola has become more reliant on Semenyo
Football Insider verdict
Bournemouth’s successful ninth-place finish in the Premier League last term was equally down to the efforts of Semenyo in attack and the defensive efforts of both Kerkez and Huijsen.

Appearances | 36 |
Goals | 11 |

But the duo’s departure has undoubtedly left the Vitality Stadium outfit weaker in defence than they were last season, while their respective moves to Liverpool and Real Madrid are elite endorsements of their abilities.
Therefore, Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola will need even more attacking output from Semenyo, in a Cherries side who may be susceptible to conceding more regularly than last season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are interested in signing Illia Zabarnyi, who, like Kerkez and Huijsen, played a key role in Iraola’s back line last season.
The 22-year-old impressed in his 36 Premier League appearances on the South Coast las term, and could prove equally useful to new Spurs boss Thomas Frank, who must oversee a successful top-flight campaign alongside his Champions League duties.
