Dominic Solanke reacts to Kevin Danso’s motivational Tottenham message
Dominic Solanke and Kevin Danso both featured as Tottenham defeated Reading in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Spurs emerged as 2-0 victors over their League One opponents, with goals arriving from young striker Will Lankshear and summer signing Luka Vuskovic in five second-half minutes.
While it was a friendly against a third-tier side, Tottenham’s win over Reading on 19 July presents a step in the right direction for new boss Thomas Frank.
The North Londoners are set for pre-season clashes with Luton Town, local rivals Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Bayern Munich before taking on Champions League winners PSG on 13 August.

Solanke reacts to Danso’s message as Tottenham beat Reading
Tottenham were drawing 0-0 with the Royals at half-time, before Frank changed his entire starting 11 at the interval.
Both Solanke and Danso featured in the opening 45 minutes, before being replaced by Lankshear and Ben Davies, respectively.
After Tottenham beat the Berkshire side, Danso wrote on Instagram on 19 July, “First 45 in the tank” alongside a flexed bicep emoji.
The 26-year-old’s message attracted a like from Solanke, who is hoping to better last season’s return of nine Premier League goals.
Danso will benefit if Cristian Romero leaves Spurs
Football Insider verdict
Danso started alongside Cristian Romero in Tottenham’s defence on Saturday, helping the North London outfit maintain a clean sheet against Reading.

But the 26-year-old’s game time next season could be negatively affected by the current presence of Romero and Micky Van de Ven, who are arguably Frank’s strongest centre-back pairing.
Danso made just nine Premier League starts for Tottenham after joining from French outfit Lens in the winter transfer window under former boss Ange Postecoglou.
However, Romero could leave Spurs this summer after attracting interest from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
Tottenham would be sad to see the back of the 27-year-old, who helped them win the Europa League last season, but his exit would pave the way for Danso to enjoy more game time.
The Austria international should be confident that he can beat the likes of Ben Davies and Archie Gray to a starting spot alongside Van de Ven.
Meanwhile, Frank’s men have been tipped to settle their dispute with Nottingham Forest over Morgan Gibbs-White in a Tottenham News exclusive.
