Tottenham expert cites Gareth Bale amid ‘earth-shattering’ claim
Dejan Kulusevski is comparable with Gareth Bale and Pavel Nedved after scoring his first home Tottenham goal.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Kulusevski, 22, scored his side’s fourth goal in a 4-1 win over Southampton on Saturday (6 August).
Wenham is expecting big things from Kulusevski this season and claims comparisons to Bale are fair.
“Kulusevski is only going to get better and better,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I read a piece in The Athletic and they were comparing him to some players. One that stood out to me was a quote that said ‘he is like Gareth Bale without the pace’.
“Now, that is not a slight because Gareth Bale with pace was one of the fastest players on earth. In terms of having that tall physique and the way he can just unleash one into the top corner, it is a fair comparison.
“There was also a comparison to Pavel Nedved the Czech Republic legend and I can see that as well. These are exciting players.
“We have a gem on our hands. He would walk into that Juventus team now. It was great for him to get the fourth (v Southampton).
“His performance was fantastic. He can do everything. He has the quick feet to go with the massive frame.

“I think he will get 15 league goals this season, he’s already got his first at the new stadium.
“Add his goals to the goals Son and Kane will score, it’s looking very, very good.”
