Tottenham expert issues ‘honest’ verdict on Antonio Conte’s future after stance revealed
Paul Robinson has claimed not even a new “five-year deal” could guarantee Antonio Conte’s long-term future at Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said the 53-year-old is “the master of his own destiny” and “could walk away at any time.”
Conte has less than a year remaining on his contract in north London, although there is an option to extend the deal by 12 months if both parties agree.

As quoted by Football.London (31 July), Conte said he would have “zero problems” staying at Tottenham beyond his current deal.
The Italian manager revealed he has a “good relationship” with both Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: “The question about Conte’s future will always be there, even if he signed a five-year deal.
“He could walk away at any time. He is the master of his own destiny.
“We all know what a strong character he is. I honestly do not think the length of his contract is going to be an issue.
“Whether it is five months or five years, he will do what he wants. If he wants to stay he will stay and if he wants to go he will go.

“The question about his future and length of contract will come under scrutiny but I don’t think it has any relevance. It is down to him as to what he does.
“I cannot fathom a situation where the club don’t want to keep him.”
