Tottenham face massive summer overhaul after 'we will see' admittance from mainstay
Tottenham are facing a massive summer overhaul if the latest comments from Spurs midfielder Mousa Dembele are anything to go by.
The Belgian international has admitted that this season might be his last at the club – a statement which will undoubtedly be a cause of concern for supporters of the Lillywhites.
Speaking to La Derniere Heure as quoted in The Telegraph, Dembele admitted: “At the beginning of the season, I said ‘I had physical problems, I want to see at the end of the season how I feel’. That’s what the club and I decided by mutual agreement.
“At this moment, I am very happy at Tottenham. I do not lie when I say that I do not think about a big transfer. I want to play a World Cup and afterwards we will see.
“Really, I’m not aware of the interest of other clubs. And, besides, I told my agent to wait for the summer to tell me about any offers. For now, I’m only focussing on Tottenham. Maybe this is my last season. Or maybe I’ll sign a new deal. We’ll see.”

With compatriot Toby Alderweireld’s future also up in the air, it means that the central midfield zone and heart of defence could both require new acquisitions.
It will be a massive blow for Mauricio Pochettino to lose two of his best players.
While Alderweireld has struggled to get back into the starting XI with Davison Sanchez capitalising on the defender’s injury-induced absence, Dembele has commanded in the centre of the park where he is rightly considered one of the best in his position in the Premier League.
The contract wrangling that could ensue with Dembele, now 30, threatens to replicate the stand-off that is ongoing with Alderweireld and could be the result of a deeper problem arising at the club.
Spurs don not need to look too far away to see the effects on a club’s financial resources a move to a new stadium can have.
Arsenal have refused to follow the lead set by the Premier League’s financially well-endowed teams and as a result fallen behind the top sides in their failure to get their hands on title success.
Ultimately, it has made them a less attractive option and that could also happen to Spurs, if it is not already happening judging by Dembele’s latest comment.
