Tottenham fans all say the same thing after Gibbs-White agrees Forest deal

Tottenham fans have been left raging after Morgan Gibbs-White committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a new contract at the City Ground.

The official announcement read: “A statement of intent from our owner Evangelos Marinakis, as Morgan Gibbs-White signs a record deal at the club until the summer of 2028.”

Having originally triggered the England international’s £60million release clause, Spurs’ deal was delayed after Forest threatened legal action for an illegal approach.

Tottenham remained confident they would reach an agreement, and have reportedly been left shocked by his decision but will now be forced to move on.

Supporters, meanwhile, have exploded at the club and ownership as Gibbs-White has become another in a long line of failed transfers under Daniel Levy.

Nottingham Forest agree Gibbs-White deal after crunch talks

Former Spurs scout Brown told Football Insider in April that Nottingham Forest would hold talks with Gibbs-White about his future at the club.

Brown explained that Forest were prepared to do everything possible to convince him to stay despite interest at the time from Man City.

Football Insider revealed on 13 April that Forest planned contract talks with Gibbs-White to deter interest as they were worried he could be tempted by a move.

Having now put pen to paper on a deal, speculation about his future has now been emphatically squashed by Forest and Marinakis in a huge boost to their ambitions.

Tottenham fans rage at Daniel Levy after Gibbs-White news

Brown told Football Insider on 19 July that Levy is prepared to back Thomas Frank as he plans a major overhaul of the first-team squad this summer.

However, with Mohammed Kudus the only name through the door so far, fans’ concerns have grown that they will now be set for a disappointing window.

Taking to social media following Forest’s Gibbs-White announcement, supporters have labelled the development “embarrassing” and “a disgrace”.
