Tottenham fans call out ‘clueless’ ENIC amid fresh Roberto De Zerbi links

Tottenham Hotspur fans have made their feelings clear to the board if the club hire Roberto De Zerbi to be their next manager.

Igor Tudor is under increasing pressure at Spurs following their 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, which leaves them just a point above the Premier League relegation zone.

Tudor was appointed on an interim basis until the end of the season, but Spurs could sack the Croatian during the international break in a bid to improve their chances of remaining in the top flight.

Whilst Mauricio Pochettino is a top target, the club can not afford to wait for the 54-year-old to become available, with the former Spurs boss currently in charge of the American national team ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

De Zerbi has therefore emerged as a leading candidate to become the next Spurs manager, with the Italian available having left French club Marseille by mutual consent in February.

Roberto De Zerbi a ‘random appointment’

De Zerbi has previous Premier League experience at Brighton, but Spurs fans are not keen on the idea of the 46-year-old taking over in north London.

It comes after Times journalist Tom Allnutt reported that the club have “discussed” the possibility of hiring De Zerbi on a permanent basis before the end of the season.

The club could also consider another interim appointment for the final seven matches of the campaign, with a trip to Sunderland their first fixture after the international break.

One fan commented that chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange “don’t have the best interests of Tottenham at heart,” whilst another posted that “these clowns are getting more and more clueless and ridiculous by the minute.”

Venkatesham and Lange are both under pressure from supporters and internally amid Spurs’ poor season on the pitch, and appointing De Zerbi may increase tensions.

Igor Tudor on verge of Tottenham sack

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Tudor’s time at Spurs was done following their defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Tudor has failed to win any of his five Premier League games in charge, and Spurs’ winless streak in the league extended to 13 matches after the humiliation against their relegation rivals.

West Ham’s defeat at Aston Villa meant they could not leapfrog Spurs in the table, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side host bottom club Wolves next in the league, where there will be an expectation on them to win that game.

Spurs therefore need results to improve, and the international break could provide the perfect chance to make a managerial change before their tough game at Sunderland.
