Tottenham fans left unimpressed with 23-year-old display against Stoke
By Amir Mir
Ben Davies played the full match as Tottenham thrashed Stoke 4-0 at White Hart Lane – but fans were still left unimpressed with his performance.
Spurs were in dominant form as they brushed aside Mark Hughes’ side to move into second place in the Premier League table.
Striker Harry Kane netted a 23-minute first half hat-trick for the home team, including a magnificent left-footed shot from a corner.
Just before the break, he produced a magnificent first touch to run away from the defender and set up midfielder Dele Alli who slotted home into an empty net.
Wales international Davies didn’t have to do much in defence as the away team provided hardly any attacking threat in a pretty poor display.

However, despite the dominant scoreline, the White Hart Lane faithful were critical of their player.
Some compared him with first team regular Danny Rose who is currently on the sidelines as they felt he doesn’t provide the threat he does.
One fan even mocked the Wales international and stated that he should have been playing for Stoke as they conceded four goals against Spurs for a third consecutive game.
Nonetheless, despite his critics others did appreciate his desire to continually work hard as they lauded his non-stop engine.
Overall, it was clear that many fans want Rose to return from injury as quickly as possible as Davies still attracts critics.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
