Tottenham fans were left raging on social media over the display of star midfielder Dele Alli during their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

First half goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez were enough to secure the first win in seven league games for the Gunners over their north London rivals, in what was a feisty derby clash.

It was not just a disappointing result but a poor display from the Tottenham players, who were second best to their rival counterparts, and one man who bore the brunt of the Tottenham fans’ anger was Alli.

The youngster seemed to struggle at the Emirates Stadium, and the Spurs faithful took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at his display.

Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

After missing the win against Crystal Palace prior to the international break through injury, Alli was making his 11th league start of the season against the Gunners, netting three times and chipping in with another assist.

Spurs sit eight point adrift of league leaders Manchester City after the defeat, and could slip three points behind second placed Manchester United, while Arsenal are now just one point behind their north London rivals.
