Nathan Oduwa has rejected a Tottenham contract offer

Winger Nathan Oduwa has agreed a transfer from Tottenham to the Slovenian league – and Spurs fans on Twitter have given mixed views.

Spurs revealed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon that attacker Oduwa has settled terms with top tier outfit Olimpija Ljubljana.

The Slovenian club revealed on their official website that Oduwa has signed a three-year contract after ending his association with Tottenham.

Oduwa has been able to agree a move outside of the main European transfer window, which has a 31 January cut-off, because the winter window in Slovenia remains open until 15 February.

Tottenham fans have reacted strongly to the departure of the 20-year-old academy product, with some claiming he was never given an opportunity at White Hart Lane.

Others insisted that he is not up to the mark and that his transfer to a relatively obscure league demonstrates the level of his ability.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Nigeria Under-23 international Oduwa has left Tottenham without playing a senior match for the club.

He has had four loan moves in the last two seasons, including at Rangers and Football League trio Luton, Peterborough and Colchester.

But Oduwa did not make a big impact at the quartet and has taken the decision to develop his game in a lower profile league.

In other Tottenham news, a £38.5million ace has held talks with Spurs and held a meeting with Pochettino at the club’s training headquarters.
