'That's the end of Aurier then' - Tottenham fans react as defender agrees terms

By Danny Wright

Tottenham fans have surprisingly offered a mixed reaction to the news that Kyle Walker-Peters has penned a new three-year deal.

Spurs announced on their official Twitter account on Wednesday that Walker-Peters, 20, had agreed terms to a new contract which keeps him at the north London club until 2020, but most supporters are disappointed that they have not yet signed someone to replace Kyle Walker.

Walker-Peters earned his senior debut earlier this month when he starred in the 2-0 win over Newcastle due to an injury to regular right-back Kieran Trippier.

The England Under-20s defender was hailed for his performance and that appears to have merited a new deal being offered to him.

However with Walker fetching Spurs £50million in his move to Manchester City, most supporters have used this latest news to vent their frustration that a top right-back has not been brought in to replace him like Paris St. Germain’s Serge Aurier.

Walker-Peters has no doubt had a fantastic summer with his Spurs debut being topped off by an Under-20 World Cup win with England.

It remains to be seen whether or not Tottenham go in for a new right-back, but at the moment t seems like Walker-Peters is very much the back-up option to Trippier.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs have sent their scouts to keep close tabs on this Argentina international who is also wanted by Juventus and Manchester United.
