Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Chelsea victory v Bournemouth

By Dominic Toner

Chelsea managed to pick up three points over Bournemouth on Saturday evening – and the Tottenham fans had a dig at their title rivals on Twitter.

Spurs beat Watford 4-0 in their Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon, which reduced the gap to just four points behind leaders Chelsea.

Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Heung-Min Son (2) were on the scoresheet as they piled the pressure on Chelsea, with Harry Kane making his return from injury in the second-half.

However, the Blues responded with a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth and opened up their seven-point gap over second-placed Spurs once again.

Spurs fans responded by mocking their rivals and feel that Chelsea have benefited hugely from not competing in Europe this season.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Spurs now have just seven league games remaining to claw back the deficit to their rivals Chelsea and it seems like a tough ask.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have maximum points from their last six Premier League matches and are doing their best to put the pressure on.

Meanwhile, Chelsea managed to recover from a minor setback when they lost at home to Crystal Palace 2-1, with wins over Bournemouth and Manchester City.

Spurs have already played the Blues twice in the league this season, but they will renew their rivalry on 22 April in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
