Tottenham fans react on Twitter to crushing Arsenal defeat v Crystal Palace

By Dominic Toner

Arsenal suffered a crushing defeat away to Crystal Palace on Monday night – and Tottenham fans went wild on Twitter to mock their north London rivals.

The Gunners saw their hopes of finishing in the top-four suffer a major blow and it means manager Arsene Wenger could miss out on the Champions League for the first time with the club.

They were blown away by a resilient Palace side who boosted their survival hopes in the process.

Andros Townsend, Yohan Cabaye and Luka Milivojevic were on the scoresheet for the hosts as they produced a shock 3-0 scoreline.

Arsenal stay seven points adrift of fourth-placed and have just one game in hand on Manchester City.

Spurs fans were delighted with the result of their rivals and are confident they can finish above them this season.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Spurs fans were overjoyed with Arsenal’s defeat and it means they stay 14 points above them in the Premier League table.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are second in the league standings and competing for the title, while the Gunners are in real danger now of missing out on the top-four places.

The two bitter rivals will face each other on 30 April at White Hart Lane and could face each other in the FA Cup final if they both negotiate their respective semi-finals.

In other Tottenham news, Paul Walsh believes the club need a player like Chelsea’s midfield powerhouse.
