Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Kyle Walker display v Burnley

By Emma Sanders

Most Tottenham fans on Twitter were happy with Kyle Walker’s performance in the 2-1 victory against Burnley in the Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.

The full-back was a little sloppy in the opening stages of the fixture and was at fault for the goal Spurs conceded after just 21 minutes.

However, he quickly made up for some poor defending when he produced a fantastic ball for Dele Alli to score the equaliser.

Walker has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season and he has firmly consolidated his place in the first team as a regular starter.

He offers plenty going forward but can be a bit sloppy in defence and fans were quick to highlight his need to eradicate this from his game.

Overall though, he was one of their better players on Sunday and certainly had an impact on the game.

Here is a selection of fans’ messages on Twitter:

Tottenham’s victory against Burnley was just their fourth win in their last 10 Premier League fixtures but it proved to be a vital victory as rivals Arsenal dropped points at the Etihad.

Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat against Manchester City means Tottenham are currently in fifth place in the Premier League but trail the Gunners and Liverpool by just one point.

Liverpool still have a game in hand, when they take on Everton in the Merseyside derby on Monday evening.

They still trail Chelsea by 10 points but the race for a top four finish has become even tighter following Spurs’ victory at White Hart Lane and Walker will be an important part in sealing a Champions League spot this season.

In other Tottenham news, this is who should be blamed for Dele Alli’s drop in form, says Jermaine Jenas.
