Marcus Edwards scored a vital goal for England Under-19s on Monday – and Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to his performance.

Edwards, 17, is regarded as one of the young stars at the club and is expected to break through into the first-team in the future.

The attacker opening the scoring for England against Bulgaria and Chelsea’s Dujon Sterling grabbed a late winner with the last kick of the match, as the young Lions recorded a 2-1 victory.

Edwards, who made his senior debut for Spurs in September during the 5-0 win against Gillingham in the EFL Cup, once again caught the eye with an impressive display.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino could hand the youngster another first-team chance in their next League Cup draw against Liverpool.

He is continuing to impress at youth level and has made seven appearances for Spurs’ Under-23s, scoring three goals and supplying four assists.
