Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Sissoko display v Sunderland

By Dominic Toner

Moussa Sissoko was used as a second-half substitute in Tottenham’s draw against Sunderland – and the club’s supporters were critical of his performance on Twitter.

The 27-year-old failed to make the difference off the bench as Spurs were held to a goalless draw at the Stadium of Light.

The north London club were unable to capitalise on Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool and they remain nine points behind the leaders, despite moving up to second above Arsenal.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side stretched their unbeaten run to 10 games across all competitions, but will feel the draw against Sunderland was a chance wasted.

Spurs supporters highlighted the cameo display of Sissoko and feel he offers very little to the side.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Sissoko moved to White Hart Lane in the summer for £30million and the ex-Newcastle man has struggled to cement his position.

The France international has made 20 appearances across all competitions, but has managed just four assists and has failed to score yet for Spurs.

He is yet to find his best position under Pochettino and has been used as both a winger and in the centre of midfield.

Sissoko will hope to enjoy a more productive spell in the second half of the season and could get a chance to impress in the next game against Middlesbrough.
