Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino recently hit out at former Barcelona man Xavi for claiming that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wants to sign Dele Alli.

The Argentian originally claimed that the former World Cup winner “hates him” as was clearly not pleased with Xavi’s comments.

However, Sky Sports Spanish expert Guillem Balague revealed that the supposed interview given by Xavi to the Sun Newspaper was “false”.

There is no surprise that certain supporters slammed the “fake news” after what some would call an unsurprising turn of events.

While others did focus on Pochettino’s comments at the Qatari-based player with some advising him not to get involved.

Another fan thought outside of the box by claiming Pochettino, who used to manage Barca rivals, Espanyol, can now wave goodbye to potentially being the manager at the Nou Camp.

Current boss Luis Enrique is set to leave the Spanish giants in the summer as a number of names have been linked with the post.

Nonetheless, going back on what seemed like a feud between Xavi and Pochettino, it may turn out a lot differently than people expected as fans provided mixed views on their manager’s comments.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

England international Alli has been a key component to a Tottenham team that is aiming to win the Premier League title.

Alli’s presence, ability off the ball and constant knack of finding the back of the net has played a big part as to why the club is fighting for a Premier League title.

In other Tottenham news, Pep Guardiola has responded to reported interest in this Spurs sensation.
