Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Arsenal win v Man United

Tottenham fans have expressed their delight on Twitter after fierce rivals Arsenal’s victory on Sunday confirmed they would be playing in the Champions League next season.

Spurs have had a difficult weekend with the 1-0 defeat against West Ham on Friday putting a huge dent in their hopes of winning the Premier League title.

However, despite rivals Arsenal winning the Tottenham support were left with something to celebrate on Sunday.

Liverpool’s 0-0 draw against Southampton on Sunday means that the Reds can no longer finish above Spurs, while Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat against the Gunners means that Jose Mourinho’s men can no longer catch Tottenham in second.

Arsenal’s result has noticeably caused the most joy for the Tottenham support on social media with many keen to thank their most hated rivals for sending them into the Champions League group stage.

Arsenal’s win has seen them remain in sixth place in the Premier League table, but they are still 14 points and four places below Tottenham.

This season will also mark the first time Spurs have finished above the Gunners since 1995 and fans will be now be keen to see their side remain on top.
