Tottenham fans reacted with amusement on Twitter as former manager Tim Sherwood was named as the new director of football at Swindon Town.
Sherwood was tipped to become the next manager of QPR but has taken an unexpected role at the struggling League One club despite managing in the Premier League last year.
The former Spurs boss has been out of work since October 2015 when he was sacked by Aston Villa following a poor run of results.

Sherwood was sacked following eight months in charge at Aston Villa despite leading them to the FA Cup final and was manager of Tottenham up until May 2014 prior to his spell at Villa Park.
The news came as a surprise for many and Tottenham fans reacted with amusement as Sherwood’s role with the League One outfit was revealed on Swindon’s Twitter page.

Swindon are currently in the relegation zone in the League One table after 16 games and have won just four league matches this season under Luke Williams.
